To simplify COVID-19 vaccine administration, the Food and Drug Administration ended the use of the original monovalent COVID-19 vaccines on April 18.  People who are due for the bivalent vaccine can still get that vaccine. A bivalent vaccine is a vaccine with more than one strain of a virus. For over 16 long and traitorous years I struggled deeply from disordered eating in some form. Anorexia nervosa was the primary diagnosis, intertwined with bulimia and eating disorders not otherwise specified as time went on. As with any mental illness, some days are better than others. The struggle ebbs and flows, but for the most part,…

You may not have crossed the line between “creeping clutter” and “hoarding.” However, organization expert Peter Walsh cites an Ohio State University study in his recent book, Lose the Clutter, Lose the Weight. The study found that hoarders were three times as likely to be overweight as were their family members.Hoarding is clutter to the nth degree. What the two have in common: Stress. Studies have found that clutter can lead to stress and stress to weight gain. The premise of Walsh’s book is, of course, that removing stressful clutter may be just the motivation you need to also drop…

This statement reminds me of the old computer programming saying, “Remember that there is no code faster than no code.” 1 The same philosophy applies in other areas of life. For example, there is no meeting that goes faster than not having a meeting at all. This is not to say you should never attend another meeting, but the truth is that we say yes to many things we don’t actually want to do. There are many meetings held that don’t need to…
