If you are looking for a high quality supplement to help you perform at your best, you should try Bodybuilding.com Elite Power + BCAA. This formulation has gone through a rigorous certification process by Informed Sport to ensure quality of its ingredients and is banned substance tested (1). This preworkout stands above the many commercial sports nutrition products that are potentially contaminated with banned substances or dangerous chemicals (2)(3)(4).

Bodybuilding.com Elite Power + BCCA was designed to help improve your power output, reduce your muscle fatigue, and increase your strength during the toughest workouts. Plus, it contains fast-acting Micronized BCAAs to support muscle recovery and growth.

This formulation provides you with six scientifically backed ingredients to enhance your performance: 5,000 mg of Micronized BCAA 2:1:1, 2,500 mg of Betaine Anhydrous, 1,600 mg of CarnoSyn® Beta-Alanine, 750 mg of CON-CRĒT® (Creatine Hydrochloride), 150 mg of elevATP® (Ancient Peat Extract and Apple Extract), and 150 mg of Raw Coconut Water.

5,000 mg Micronized BCAA 2:1:1

Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) are important for athletes because of their potential role in protein synthesis, energy regulation, and muscle recovery (5). BCAAs are composed of three essential amino acids: leucine, isoleucine, and valine. Leucine helps regulate muscle protein synthesis (6). Isoleucine helps protein and fat metabolism by transporting glucose (7). Valine helps assist in the stimulation of muscle regeneration (8). Of the three BCAAs, leucine has been shown to be most important, which is the reason the formulation has two parts leucine to isoleucine and valine ratio. A meta-analysis of scientific literature showed that BCAA supplementation activates anabolic signals and helps recovery by attenuating muscle damage and ameliorating muscle soreness (9)(10). By consuming 5,000 mg of BCAA’s, you can increase your amino acid availability for accelerated protein synthesis and muscle growth (11).

2,500 mg Betaine Anhydrous

Betaine is a naturally-occurring compound found in seafood, spinach, beets, and whole grains (12). Betaine supplementation can improve exercise performance involving power output, muscular endurance, and overall body composition (13)(14)(15). Betaine may accomplish these effects by increasing rates of creatine synthesis, enhancing protein synthesis, elevating levels of blood nitric oxide, and promoting fluid and thermal homeostasis (16). A study found that taking 1,250 mg of betaine twice a day for a total of 2,500 mg was an effective dose to raise blood serum levels (17). A randomized placebo-controlled study found that 6 weeks of betaine supplementation improved body composition, muscle size, work capacity, and improved power in resistance trained men (15).

1,600 mg of CarnoSyn® Beta-Alanine

Beta Alanine is a precursor to carnosine, which can help you delay muscular fatigue during high intensity exercise by acting as an intracellular pH buffer (18). CarnoSyn® is a high quality patented version of beta-alanine certified to be pure and safe for sports. A published self-funded study found that CarnoSyn® supplementation specifically was shown to effectively increase muscle carnosine content in an elderly population, leading to improved exercise capacity for resistance and reduced muscular fatigue (19). This has been verified by other studies (20). A scientific study demonstrated that a daily dose of 3,200 mg of beta-alanine was able to delay the onset of neuromuscular fatigue during exercise (21). Other studies have shown that beta-alanine is safe, effective, and can increase lean body mass, number of repetitions performed, and overall training volume (22). It has also been shown to lower perceived fatigue during high volume workouts (23).

750 mg of CON-CRĒT® (Creatine Hydrochloride)

Creatine is a safe and effective supplement for increasing strength, muscle mass, body composition, and overall athletic performance (24)(25). Creatine supplementation has a synergistic effect with exercise by helping replenish your body’s natural source of energy (26).

The three most common complaints of your standard creatine monohydrate is that it does not dissolve in water, it leads to water retention, and it can lead to gastric distress (27). The formulation of CON-CRĒT® creatine hydrochloride addresses these issues by increasing its solubility in water. In a comparison study, creatine hydrochloride was 38 times more soluble than creatine monohydrate (28). Therefore, you can consume much less water with this form of creatine, which can help lessen bloating and stomach issues.

150 mg elevATP® (Ancient Peat Extract and Apple Extract)

ElevATP® is a trademarked blend of natural ingredients, such as ancient peat and polyphenol-rich apple extracts, which have been clinically shown to help increase your levels of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) (29)(30). The increase in cellular ATP can potentially enhance your athletic performance by improving strength, power, and endurance (31). A placebo controlled study involving 25 healthy, resistance-trained male subjects demonstrated a single daily dose of 150 mg of ancient peat and apple extract, paired with resistance training, enhanced performance in 1RM back squat, 1RM deadlift, and vertical jump velocity (32).

150 mg of Raw Coconut Water

Coconut water is rich in electrolytes, vitamins, minerals, cytokines, and proteins with a long history of medicinal qualities, including hydration, anti-aging, antimicrobial, and energy enhancement (33). Coconut water is an alkaline beverage with high levels of potassium and glucose, making it an important alternative for oral rehydration (34)(35). In a study comparing coconut water to carbohydrate-electrolyte sport drink, both were found to have similar effects on hydration (36).
