Long before morning routines became content and supplement stacks became status symbols, Lauryn Bosstick was quietly cataloging what actually worked. When she launched The Skinny Confidential in 2011, it was never about oversharing. It was about editing. Testing. Refining. Turning everyday rituals into something sharper, smarter, and undeniably intentional.

Over time, that instinct expanded into a chart topping podcast, a cult favorite beauty brand, and a loyal community that listens closely when she speaks. Now, on the 10 year anniversary of their hit show, The Skinny Confidential Him and Her, Lauryn and Michael are stepping into a new chapter, with the podcast entering a new era under a new name, The Bossticks.

In this next phase, wellness feels less like accumulation and more like discernment. Fewer commitments. Better products. Earlier nights. Stronger boundaries. A move to Austin, three children, and a fuller life have sharpened the lens. Living well now is about protecting energy as fiercely as she once protected growth. It is about alignment over urgency. Refinement over reinvention.

We sat down with Lauryn to talk about discipline, maturity, and why the real luxury is clarity.

Living Well with Lauryn Bosstick

You were one of the first beauty bloggers and one of the first female podcast hosts before it was “cool.” Did you always know you were building a brand, or were you just documenting your life? I always saw it as a brand, even when it was only a blog in the beginning. When I started The Skinny Confidential in 2011, it was never meant to be a personal diary. It was a curated system of information. I was collecting the best tips, rituals, and routines. I was constantly saving and testing myself and organizing them in a way that felt elevated but tangible.

I paid very close attention to what women were actually trying to solve in their daily lives. I read every email, every comment, every DM. Patterns emerge quickly when you are listening- and The Skinny Confidential became a resource.

From the beginning, I saw that trust compounds. If you build credibility, you are not just building content, you are building equity. I did not know exactly how it would expand, but I knew it was meant to extend beyond one platform.

The show was a natural evolution. Michael and I were already having long conversations about culture, business, beauty, and ambition. Podcasting felt wide open at the time, which meant opportunity. We treated it seriously from day one! It was always intentional.

You’ve built an empire across content, podcasting, product, and community. At what point did you realize you weren’t just influencing trends, you were creating them? Instead of creating trends, I try to think in terms of identifying behavior shifts early on.

I am constantly experimenting, refining, and eliminating what does not work. If something meaningfully improves my life, I share it. Because of the show, I have access to founders, operators, scientists, and creatives who are operating at a very high level. When they share something that materially moves the needle, I listen carefully and test it before ever speaking about it.

I also stay extremely close to our community. When you hear the same friction points repeated over and over, you begin to see where change is coming. If something scales within our audience, it is usually because we identified that friction early and zoned in on the innovation part.

Trust is the multiplier. Influence without trust is temporary. Trust built over years becomes market power.

You’ve built an empire over the last decade, how has your definition of wellness changed as your life has grown fuller? My definition of wellness has very much matured.

In the early years, I was more focused on experimentation and performance. I still love innovation and testing, but after becoming a mother of 3 I realized wellness is ultimately about sustainability and capacity.

The mental architecture became more important than the physical tools. How you regulate your nervous system. How you speak to yourself- mindset is key. How you structure your time. Those decisions determine longevity.

Protecting my energy is the most important self-care I practice- it’s strategic. Being selective creates clarity. Clarity is a real asset- I personally need clarity to create

Moving to Austin reinforced that shift. There is more space, more time outdoors, slower mornings, earlier evenings, mixed with a grounded-ness. I have found a lot of joy in creating a sanctuary for my family. Wellness now feels less like stacking more and more and more, and more like refining what truly matters to me.

What made you want to move into launching your own clean beauty and wellness brand? Ownership. After years of studying consumer behavior and identifying gaps in daily rituals, it felt natural to build solutions rather than just recommend them. I was already observing what worked, what did not, and how they looked laying on your vanity.

The Ice Roller came from a personal need after surgery, but it also was a larger opportunity. There were culturally familiar tools that lacked elevation, intention, and strong brand identity.

I am not interested in adding unnecessary steps to anyone’s routine! I am interested in refining what already exists and making it more effective and more beautiful…just better overall.

If someone is totally new to your brand and wants to dip their toe in, where should they start? Mouth tape is transformative because it works while you sleep. It improved my sleep quality, my energy, and even the brightness of my eyes. It is simple, but it really is a better sleep. SHOP THE MOUTH TAPE

For a tool, the Mint Roller is a strong entry point. It is compact, efficient, and dual purpose. It integrates easily into real life, and it is fabulous for de-puffing the face. SHOP THE MINT ROLLER

Is there one product that really captures what The Skinny Confidential stands for? The Ice Roller, reimagined, reflects where we are now. The softer pink, cleaner lines, and custom dust bag are not just aesthetic updates. They represent maturation. The brand and taste has evolved.

As your life grows, the tools you use daily should reflect that evolution. It is not about reinvention. It is about refinement.

What excited you most about bringing electrolytes, colostrum, and pearl powder into the same formula in Beauty Salt? Where did you see the synergy? Those three supplements were already non-negotiables in my routine because of their effectiveness. The synergy came from efficiency. Instead of multiple powders and containers, it became one streamlined formula that supports you from the inside out first thing in the morning.

I am very focused on habit stacking. The easier something is to maintain, the more likely it becomes permanent. Beauty Salt is my morning hydration before coffee every morning.

How do you personally use the Ice Roller in your routine? Morning? Night? Before glam? After travel? All the time. First thing in the morning, before makeup, after travel, whenever I want immediate depuffing. The reason it remains foundational is simple. IT WORKS.

The results are visible and immediate, which has always been my vibe. SHOP THE ICE ROLLER

What does real success look like for you today? Has that definition changed? Success has always meant autonomy to me. Now it also means alignment, meaning a strong marriage, present motherhood, lots of reading, intellectual growth, and time to think and write.

Time has become the most meaningful currency. The ability to build aggressively while still being fully present at home feels like the ultimate achievement with 3 kids!

What boundaries are non-negotiable for you now that weren’t early in your career? Early on, I equated growth with availability. I believed I had to say yes to everything. It was sort of a hustle.

Now I understand that discernment is key for me. Energy is a strategic resource, meaning I structure my time carefully, delegate intentionally, and prioritize like no other!

What’s one piece of advice you’d give women who want to build something big but feel intimidated? Build with intention, not urgency. I have learned consistency compounds quietly. The small disciplined actions you take daily take shape over time.  Protect your energy! And raise your standards as you grow.

When you hear the phrase “living well,” what does it mean to you right now in this season of life? Living well right now means alignment to me. It also means quality over quantity in every category, meaning fewer commitments, better products, deeper conversations, and very much intentional, interesting relationships.

When how I spend my time, what I consume, and what I create feels thoughtful, that is when I feel my best. Living well, on my own terms.
